We’re past the halfway point of the SCSS season now, and this time we got to drive the reverse carousel layout. I haven’t practiced on it as much, but I really, really like it!

I got new pedals and pedal kit on my bambino kart, plus a brand new pair of race shoes. We also figured out the best tyre pressures for how I like to drive, and all of that together has helped me go faster.

It was a really good race day for me. I qualified 1st, which made me feel so happy! Then I came 2nd in Heat 1 — I was a tiny bit disappointed about that, but I kept my head up and stayed focused. Then I won Heat 2 and I won The Final too, which meant I got 1st place overall! That’s my best set of results so far, and I only made two mistakes the whole entire day. I’m really pleased because this is the hardest I have driven in practice and it paid off in my races.

I can’t wait for Round 6 — bring it on!

It was great to be back at Stretton on the standard anti-clockwise layout — the one I’ve done the most laps on, so it really feels like home to me.

I was quickest in warm-up and then took P1 in qualifying too, which meant I lined up at the front of the grid out of six drivers, all of them older than me. That felt pretty special, honestly.

Heat 1 didn’t quite go to plan though. I had a problem with my pedal during the race, and it cost me positions, dropping me back to third. We managed to fix it in time for Heat 2, but looking back, it played on my mind a little. Going into Heat 2 and then the final, I just didn’t have quite the same trust in the throttle as I did in quali. I think that held me back, and I finished P2 in both races.

It’s tough when you know you had the pace to win but something outside your control gets in the way. I’ve been thinking about it, and I suppose that’s just part of racing — things go wrong sometimes, and you have to deal with them and keep pushing. The good thing is I didn’t let it ruin my day. I kept my head, stayed consistent, and still brought home some strong results.

Winning first place in the MightE category and finishing second overall is something I’m happy about. I know there are things I could have done better, and I want to work on trusting the kart again even after a problem, but when I look at the whole weekend, I have to smile. I’m racing against older, more experienced drivers, and I’m up there fighting at the front. That’s a great feeling.

Round 2 of the SCSS 🏎️

It was great to be back on track with my friends this weekend. I got to meet some new racers too, which was really cool!

This time we hit the switch!
Instead of petrol, my kart is now powered by MightE. Driving an electric kart felt so different but I really loved it. It was my first time in a MightE and I got my first ever 1st place trophy 🏆

Big thank you to my team, Team Remas for helping me out with this new electric motor.
I can’t wait to learn more about how to drive it even better.

Roll on round 3 🏁

I got second place in Round 1 of SCSS! 🏆
I was a bit worried cos I hurt myself in the winter cup, but I set the fastest time in practice and the final which was really cool 🏎️💨
I got P2 in qualifying, Heat 1 and the final – it was really wet and slippy but I kept pushing and finished only 2 seconds behind the boy who won. He’s really fast and has been racing ages! 👏🏼
I can’t wait for the next race – I know I’m going to get even better! 😊

There were some good parts and some bad parts. I crashed and hurt my foot, and my visor kept getting all foggy so I couldn’t see properly. The other kids were way bigger than me — but guess what? I finished my very first race ever, and even though I had to limp a little bit, I got a third place trophy!🏆
